Post 9/11, corporations invested heavily in their disaster recovery systems by accelerating the adoption of digital technology, virtual communication and remote-friendly work environments.
Most smaller businesses faithfully updated their websites, and upgraded their electronic systems and in-house applications. Conventional planning and daily activities deferred to common usage-based strategies, techniques and technologies, designed for predictable, day-in-day-out environments.
Then quite abruptly, "business as usual was cancelled". Giving rise to the long overdue, creeping commitment to data-and digitally driven business planning.

This article was originally published in 1994. I had the privilege and honor of serving on the board of People's Advocate (PA) with Ted for twelve years. I penned this early in my tenure with them.
To this day, Ted has continued to serve as an invaluable resource for the people, the press and even the politicians.
"Well, the goals of People's Advocate (PA) are really this. Paul (Gann) laid them down, he said that when he went to the capitol and he looked around, he saw every special interest was represented there. He saw the unions were represented, the corporations were represented, local governments were represented- it's big business for local governments to lobby the state. All the special interests had their lobbyists at the state capitol. So he said, "The people need their advocate".
