I’ve been a solo-preneur forever. Since our mantra is “Resistance to change is a real deal breaker in the business world. And regret is its counterpart in the digital world,” it was time to step up and walk the walk we talk. And so . . . .

Sworak.com is a recently-formed small business with a team of in-house professionals and virtual associates scattered across North America.

While I concentrate on developing a strong brand and promoting our services to feed the piggy bank, I need someone back at the North 40 to provide financial and accounting advice.

That’s when I turn to my Virtual Accountant (and team member), Louis Hinton. And I do mean, virtual, since Louis is physically located in Southern Minnesota and I’m in Northern California.

For a Gen Xer, he’s collected more than his fair share of specialized know-how from some of the largest corporations across the U.S.  Louis is reliable, thorough and almost stoic in his work demeanor; yet undeniably punny, discerningly partial to a pint of ale, and most importantly, a loving and devoted single Dad to Luke and Abby. Read on for some of his functional service experience and client list highlights.

Also known as a Premium Auditor, applying a due diligence approach, I examine business documents including financial records, payroll records and income statements, from insurance policy holders. It’s the carrier’s way of determining just how much risk they actually insured for general liability (GL) and worker’s compensation over a period of twelve months. – Louis Hinton
